Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Part of my “assumed” responsibility as a class rep is, to arrange social gatherings such as coffee mornings with parents. Because most fathers are work during the week, they can’t come. So most class gatherings are attended by moms—and me of course. Not wa...
Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Christopher’s weekly spelling words are theme based. Seldom do I come across a group of words which, I have difficulty seeing how they all fit together, or are somehow related to one another. But this week’s words really confused me. This week’s spelli...
Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 For the next several weeks, it’s all about time and money. Not American money, but Royal money. Time doesn’t really matter. Time is universally the same no matter where you go in the world. But let us not forget about time zones. Correct me if I’m wrong but, Russia has the most time zones of any country. The other day I found a bag of plastic coins—British coins, inside Christopher blue bag. ...
Every school rehearses with their staff and students, what to do if there should ever be a fire, tornado or other emergency situation. Nowadays, intruder alarm drills are being added to the list of possible scenarios, even here in the Middle East. This evening, as we're putting Christopher to bed, my wife comes out of his room and says our son has something he'd like to discuss with me. So I go back and we start talking. "We had a pretend intruder alarm today, daddy." "Did you," I said. "Tell me ...

That decision didn’t come easy, but I’ve simply had enough of what I believe to be mediocre management. Christopher’s former Head Teacher in London, summed it up pretty well when, she made t...

Happy 2013! Gosh, another year gone by and what a year it's been. We returned from our short trip to Dubai with several suitcases full of necessary essentials like, clothes, a couple of DVD's (halal version, of course--censored) making them far less entertaining than one which hasn't been exposed to government sanitizers. O yeah, we spent an ample amount on oink oink products. We love Spinneys! Kuwait could build and operate a Spinneys supermarket for the 2-2.5 million expat community who enjoy eating...

Guess who forgot to put his orange book bag inside the car this morning? Sadly, nobody realized it until it was too late. At school: Christopher: "Where's my book bag, daddy?" Me: "In the car next to you," I say. Christopher: "No, it's not in the car." Me: "Well, I guess you forgot it." Back home, I stumbled upon this poor, lonely school bag, standing right where Christopher gets in/out of the car.
