MT. PULAG REVISITED VIA AMBANGEG TRAIL

content discovered on Monday, May 06, 2013

This Mt. Pulag climb was the final leg of our preparation for the Mt. Kinabalu conquer.  Together with guests from the real estate industry, we left the Metro for Baguio City at 11pm.  Some friends bound for MFPI Mt. Ugo Annual Climb shared our transpo… I was so envious because Mt. Ugo was originally in our Mt. Kinabalu prep list but because of the Mt. Pulag guests, Mt. Ugo was foregone…  Along our way, we were chatting and teasing each other --- Ugo, Ugo, Ugo.. then.. Pulag, Pulag, Pulag.. At 430 ...

2013 HOLYWEEK AT ANAWANGIN COVE, CAPONES & CAMA...

content discovered on Tuesday, April 02, 2013

I thought the Anawangin Cove, given no commercial or resort developments, will escape the volume of long week-end holiday-tourists but even so, every corner was filled with camps... Yep, people young and aged, mountaineers or elite alike, flocked together to escape the Metro for awhile and have a quality time with the family and friends. READ MORE >>>>

MT. ROMELO DAYHIKE [2013]

content discovered on Monday, April 01, 2013

This trip was another motorcycle drive and part-training of our soon Mt. Kinabalu climb.  We left the Metro at 10am and originally bound to Pangil, Laguna for a Buntot Palos Falls dayhike.  We learned at the registration area that a guide is already required due to previous issues on robbery at the trail or campsite.  We were told that the dayhike guide fee is P300 plus P20 per head registration fee.  Ahem... the P300 was expensive for just 2-persons was beyond our budget... With that, we diverted to Mt....

NIGHT TOUR AROUND SEOUL

content discovered on Tuesday, February 19, 2013

After our Namdaemun Market stroll, our guide for the evening tour was set to meet us at 6:30pm.  With an hour to spare, we had coffee and a light meal at “Angel in Us Coffee”, sort of a Seoul’s Starbucks version.  I liked the ambiance and the tumblers were the inside is made of stainless but the external is a fiberglass. From Visit Korea: Angel-In-Us’s name implies that coffee is God’s gift delivered by angels. Only the best-quality arabica beans are roasted using the pure roasting system (a method of...

THE CHANGDEOKGUNG PALACE

content discovered on Tuesday, February 19, 2013

The first stop for our Seoul tour was the Changdeokgung Palace. From Visit Seoul:  Changdeokgung is also known as Donggwol, the Eastern Palace, because of its location to the east of Gyeongbokgung. For 270 years, the palace was home to the Joseon government and was also the favored residence of many Joseon Dynasty kings. This makes Changdeokgung the longest-serving royal residential palace. The palaces rear garden, Huwon, is considered an excellent example of Korean garden design and is the only re...

ARRIVING AT INCHEON AND MY FIRST NIGHT AT SOUTH...

content discovered on Thursday, February 14, 2013

Just four days after my Ho Chi Minh,Vietnam trip, I flew by myself to South Korea for a 4-days short vacation with my sister.  The whole flight was filled of shilly-shallying feelings of what ifs and buts.  But with full “I needed this trip” conviction, I just engrossed myself with music to dismiss all those uncertainties. This time around, I made sure I have a pen at hand.  I also photocopied my documents especially my passport and plane ticket.  But as always, especially at foreign land, things u...
