Love Affair with FishI set up my first tank when I was 10 years old. It was a standard 10 gallon and I filled it immediately with colorful gravel and plastic water plants, and about 20 fish. Every fish was dead in the next two weeks. I was extremely disappointed. A few years later, a school friend was moving to live with her father in California and she gave me all her fish. She assured me that her fish will survive, since she does nothing to keep them alive except feed them. She never changed the water.... read more »
Last year, the whole Europeexperiencedone of the toughest winters in the past 50 years and Romania was no exception. After spending the morning on a scenic drive, we spent the afternoon doing touristy stuff in town. We took the kids to Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, where we spent some time walking through the exhibits. With Optimus Prime We had dinner with friends and called it a night. That means I'll be able to spend most of tomorrow tying up loose ends around the house, finishing what's left of the laundry, and a little bit of cleaning. I don't expect Zakir to make much of a mess during his two weeks at home by himself, but I also don't expect him to do much cleaning while we're gone, ha!We have a little over a nine hour layover in Chicago on Monday (the next connection would have barely left an hour betwe... read more »

Yesterday we were planning a trip to the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center to check out the rockets and visit the Star Wars exhibit. But it turns out that the Star Wars exhibit doesn't open until the end of June, so we decided, on the spur of the moment, to go to Atlanta for the day instead.Good intentions, but things didn't start out as smoothly as planned. First of all it took us a lot longer than we wanted just to get everyone mobilized. Then as the kids were sitting in the car I ran upstairs to get ... read more »
