Here we are. Weve finally come full-circle. All four parts have been written. All four parts have been shared. (Even if Part Four is just over two weeks behind the rest. Sorry about thatlife has been a bit insane lately.) If you have missed any of the other three parts and you dont yet have a [...] read more »
Grey2K, upon receiving pressure from pro-racing sources, immediately cries defamation of character to intimidate, coerce and beat into submission those voices that challenge the Grey2K propaganda machine.Hmmm... Grey2K must be feeling the sting of the truth from this blog. It seems that they are getting a bit sensitive to the criticism and they are starting to squeal. The Carey Nation, when it feels external pressure, cries "DEFAMATION"! For instance, just the other day in the post, Making a Dent, it w... read more »
Grey2K Lies is making a dent in the propaganda spewed by Grey2K USA (Grey2K) and its founders, the husband and wife team of Carey Theil Christine Dorchak.Well, a couple of things happened on the way to the Grey2K Lies Forum...We have recently discovered that Grey2K USA is buying up domain names, such as Grey2KLies.com and Grey2K Lies.org, and theyare pointing them to the Grey2K USA website. That tells us that our little blog is hitting close to home, perhaps hitting them a bit in their deep pockets and ... read more »
After this Ithought it quite obvious I would not get any more English teaching. I would beisolated at the Home with little if any connections with the school and colleagues. The Principal and I had a conversation about this at her office. She told me thatpeople had complained about this way too difficult test. I asked who hadcomplained since it is my right to know. One parent from 20 students hadcomplained (later I was told that parent was in the habit of complaining. Notthat I’m undermining the complai... read more »
In the springthere are final exams before summer vacation. I bring an old test from theCity-school. It soon becomes clear that the test in the younger class is considered“way too difficult. " Now it is probablyright to mention that the City-school isn’t considered a very “good” school. Itis usually very low in the standardized testing and its students not generallyconsidered very apt students. I don’t like saying this because I just lovedteaching there and the kids were just the best but this is a lower... read more »
After this thingswent from bad to worse. It became quite obvious that the Principal consideredme incompetent. In a job interview (or a job assessment interview) in February she told methat the students were complaining about me. The students seemed to havecomplained to “someone”, either herself or The Favourite. They were feeling“insecure” and this was some sort of “vague unhappiness” she, “didn’t knowexactly what was wrong.” Could I please do something about it. I knew I taught differently than their... read more »
Maybe it's best to explain The Favourite. It took some time realizing this and I was not the only one who saw it. The Favourite is a young, pretty woman who is very efficient in her work, no argument there. But, according to the principal, one might think she was the only one doing any work worth something. She was the only person who got any compliment from the principal in front of everyone. She was such a hard worker, everything she did was so well done. She was so smart and... she was even beautiful.... read more »
*photo from www.livinglutheran.com I don’t want to talk about Tyler Clementi’s suicide, at least not exclusively, or, not as the main focus. This all could have gone differently. If Clementi had been in a slightly better place, if he had a better support system or had been better equipped to handle the situation, or had a better sense of self worth he might still be with us and the story of the roommate who spied on him would have become one of those crazy roommate stories we tell at parties, always ... read more »
Matt Epling was incessantly bullied at MacDonald Middle School in East Lansing, Mich. His last day of eighth grade was the final straw - he was given a "Welcome to High School" beating. School officials did little, so his parents decided to go to the police. But fearing retribution from his bullies, Epling killed himself rather than tell the police what happened. In the nine years since, the state's Republican lawmakers would not let an anti-bullying law through, saying it would create a "protected clas... read more »
As a mum, I try my hardest to make sure my girls are growing into well balanced, caring and strong people. I’m not one of those parents who is constantly on the schools back because something isn’t quite right, I don’t get involved when B has friends over or when Mr D’s kids are here [...] read more »
