Rosie Posie cuteness. As I was spending a bit of time in my stamp room yesterday and going through to see what I wanted to play with, I realized that considering I waited so long to get Rosie Posie, I hadn't shown it nearly enough love. So once I apologized to Rosie for neglecting her, I pulled her, her coordinating dies, card stock and inks out and set about creating. The color palette used is dark chocolate, classic kraft, raspberry fizz and aqua mist. All stamps, excluding the sentiment, are from the ... read more »
to the umpteenth degree. It's the 25th of the month, so that means that it is blog hop day over at Papertrey. Nichole not only gave us one inspiration photo this month, she gave us two. So you would think that it would be super easy to be inspired, right? Wrong. When I first saw the inspiration pics, I immediately decided that I would skip this month's hop. I looked at it again last night and didn't change my mind. Totally skipping this month. Then I looked at it again this morning and STILL I ... read more »
my summer vacation, a few answered questions and a card. This could be a long one, so you might want to get comfy......or run. I think that we'll start with a card, which might help with answering a question or two. Susan asked about the color of Soft Stone, so I chose this card to share today. I used soft stone, fine linen and classic kraft inks to stamp the flowers. I absolutely love this card! Here is a closer view of the colors. Soft Stone is a ver, very soft gray. I love this color combo toget... read more »
thing as a "stamping drunk", I have it. I spent all day yesterday with Roxann and Becky for Papertrey's first ever online Stamp-a-faire and it was such a fun day. Nichole and her design team had videos and tutorials of some great projects to fill the day. So, I wanted to pop in and share a bit of the day. I will first share my projects and lastly share a couple pics from our day. The theme was Stamp-a-Faire Summer Camp and the morning started with the bugle call. Our first project was a card that Nicho... read more »
craft room, so I popped over to Just Us Girls to see what this week's challenge is. This week, the challenge is the faux window technique. So I got busy and here is what I came up with. This is such an easy technique that has a great wow factor when done. I love these poppies. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with copics. I layered simply chartruese patterned paper under the poppies. My sentiment is stamped with sentiments from Friends 'Til The End. I used a couple ... read more »
my friend Debbie that I introduced you to a couple of weeks ago? This is Debbie on the left and she'll be pleased as punch to be on the blog again. Haha! Well, today is Debbie's birthday and I thought that I would take a moment to share the card that I made for her. One of my favorite flowers is the daisy. It's so sweet and delicate. The stamp is from the Friendship Jar Fillers Stamp Set. I added just the slightest bit of color to them with a very soft blue copic and I used yellow for the centers.... read more »
in a 500 mile radius of Cincinnati, I'm gonna jump on. And jump I did.......however, I jumped on the wrong wagon. HA! After seeing so many great cards that Dawn and others made with the Studio Calico monthly kits, I thought I'd give the kits a try. And to push me over the edge, I was watching one of Kristina Werner's videos about the monthly kit and I immediately "clicked" the link and signed myself up...........for the Simon Says monthly kit. Oops! But that's okay, they are great kits, too. This is ... read more »
April blog hop over at Papertrey. Nichole gave us another photo for inspiration this month and it is so very springy. When I looked at this photo, I was totally inspired by all of the patterns. So let me take you on a little journey through my thought process for this card. The most challenging part of this card was finding the right turquoise/blue. First I pulled out aqua mist, but when I compared it to the photo, it just didn't seem right. Next I pulled out hawaiian shores....definitely not rig... read more »
and yes, that is a play on words for one of my favorite blogs. A while back I found Jill Foster's blog called Inspired By and I absolutely love stopping by to see her creations. If you have never visited Jill's blog, go NOW. Well, finish our visit first, then go. I would miss you if you left this very second. Jill has great videos and she does a lot of work with Ranger distressed inks, various markers, stamps and stickers. Yes, I said stickers. She uses Penny Black stickers and makes some of the most ... read more »
from some of my "home" projects to make a quick card to share with you. As you know, I am working on moving my stamps from the CD cases to the new folder system, so I had a few sets on my desk waiting their turn for the process. I picked a couple of the sets to use for this card. I began with a Fine Linen card base and then stamped Background Basics: Text Style using kraft ink. Just before stamping, I dabbed a two or three areas to remove the ink. It reminds me of an old letter when the ink is fading. ... read more »
