Go to Paris to be in Paris, not to cross it off your list and congratulate yourself for being worldly. from the video, a very inspiring video. I think this was how I used to choose where to go: just Continue reading read more »
What is your first impression of a home when you see a wreath hanging on the front door? Do you get a warm and fuzzy feeling of welcome? Does it feel as if it beckons you to celebrate?I have this thing about homes with wreaths. This is part of the voyeuristic side of me coming out. When I'm out driving around or walking, I will often stop and take a picture of the door. Do you do that? Please tell me I'm not the only one who takes pictures of other people's doors or lawns. Okay, that sentence sounded a l... read more »
Normal 0 HomelessThe woman who slouched down in the front seat of the bus distressed me. Her hair was matted, her face dirty, and though it was a cold night outside, she was wearing only a flimsy cotton dress and a blanket through which she had torn holes for her arms. What should I do? I wondered. She was so obviously in need. And at Christmastime too. Wasn't there some shelter I could direct her to, some place where she'd get all the attention she required? No, I finally reasoned, her problems w... read more »
Source Hi Lord, its me. We are getting older and things are getting bad here. Gas prices are too high, no jobs, food and heating costs too high. I know some have taken you out of our schools, government and even Christmas, but Lord I'm asking you to come back and re-bless us. We really need you! There are more of us who want you than those who don't! Thank You Lord, I love you. "Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point." This was another wonderful email I received and c... read more »

The Legend of St. Valentine The history of Valentine's Day--and the story of its patron saint--is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. But who was Saint Valentine, and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? The Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were mar... read more »
Life off the ship gives me so many reasons to smile and enjoy each and every day, not only because I am with my family and the little angel I love so deeply, my daughter Ellie but also through other little events. It makes me realize the life I live away from all this, for 6 or more months, locked in a tiny, windowless room that combines a bedroom, living room and bathroom in 2 square meters, breathing air conditioning 24/7 is not really a life but a sacrifice I need to make to provide the basics for... read more »
Yeah, me either. My son invited me over to "watch" the game with him. Translated that means, "Bring food mom, play with your grandson and talk to my fiance' while Iwatch the game." Ah, he knows me so well. I couldn't care less about the Super Bowl unless of course the Detroit Lions are playing which sadly they are not, and I suspect, never will. - Sniff, sniff.. I will however watch the commercials especially after seeing this sneak peak. This is who I'm shakin' my pom poms for! And don't even get me s... read more »
