These crispy little cookies are one of the small pleasures my husband and I have enjoyed on our scuba diving trips to Bonaire. It's a tiny island part of the Dutch Caribbean, so of course there is a heavy Dutch influence in food, groceries and culture, and it's also very international, as over 60 countries are represented in permanent residency in a population of@ 17,000. It's our favorite place on Earth for a number of reasons. We love visiting part of his family who lives there and it has pristine, sp... read more »

hot mocha and food at Tully's Just as everybody else, I like the perfect comfort that cafes brings. Especially nowadays when the temperature can go extreme. I usually envision myself inside a coffee shop preferably in the afternoon when the day is at it's hottest. Ideal to haul with your laptop, or your Kindle or maybe your Samsung Note or iPad to play Candy Crush while sipping your favorite frapp or brewed coffee. Oftentimes I come here just to people watch. To check out what other people are ordering ... read more »
It’s the end of Coffee Culture… for now. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t got more to give! For the final edition of Coffee Creatives we asked Franka De Mille, owner of some truly excellent rootsy, chamber folk sounds about her coffee experience… What influence has coffee had on your work? It is ever-presentthrough the whole creative process, from writing lyrics, recording, engineering, mastering - coffee has been the fuel of my creativity for years. It helps me to focus and is almost a ritual. W... read more »
If you’d have asked me a year ago about coffee and creativity and how they’re linked, I’d have thrown my head back and snorted in derision. Possibly. But back then, no-one asked me, I didn’t answer and now I’ll never know what I would have said or done. But a year is a long time and much has changed since then. Just over a year ago, I emerged, Bambi-like, blinking and not too sure on my legs, as one of Liverpool’s five Cultural Champions. With no real clue what we were doing, the five of us – me, Johny... read more »

Going to your favorite coffee shop is something that can't always be adequately described in words. Indeed, many may not even think to do so as they have other things on their mind. Last year’s Coffee Culture season featured a look at Liverpool's oft-said to be best independent coffee shop Bold Street Coffee and it has to be said that it is a place easily loved by the coffee connoisseur. You’ll note that I said the feeling of an excellent independent venue is often hard to describe in words alone and ... read more »
Argonaut are the latest subjects of our Coffee Creatives Interview sessions and Nathan from the band gives us the beans on relationship with coffee... What influence has coffee had on your work? I’m very susceptible to caffeine – gives me an instant kick! I tend to go very hyper and then plummet! Co-Director of Liverpool's Threshold Festival, leader of Lamp Scientist's as part of her band Science of the Lamps and possibly the busiest person in the world, Kaya Herstad-Carney gave us a piece of her mind on coffee and music for this edition of Coffee Creatives...
