Sunday - Coffee and Cakeweekly mommy babble and handmade goings on...Weird Week... yes... It has certainly been different! This morning for instance has been the 2nd night in a row that my son (not the baby) has decided to keep me up all night, then when coupled with my daughters desire to do the same things can be pretty tiring for me as you can imagine! It normally happens when I have been up late working too. Go figure! So I've been awake each night imagining all the snoozing bodies in my timezone whi... read more »
I'd just like to share a few things that I've made over the past few weeks while I've been growing this baby - yes, she's still in there at this moment in time - though only 4 days to go!! They're all crocheted items, the first being a cup cozy - my own pattern I might add - created withSirdar Crofter DK, Fair Isle Effect DK, Shade 0045, 60% Acrylic, 25% Cotton, 15% Wool: Cup Cozy Cup Cozy The next being 'Peony Corsage' - a pattern from'Inside Crochet'magazine, Issue 14, by Shirley MacDonald, from... read more »
Sunday - Coffee and Cakeweekly mommy babble and handmade goings on...In, Out And Shake It All About... Warning... a bit of a rant here as I need to vent! It's nice to know that after an entire month of delays both unforseen and out of our control and the masses of stress involved with it all, we are finally in our new house and can worry about normal things associated with moving.Like unpacking... urgh. I didn't realise just how much stuff we had to be honest as a lot of our knick-knacks were cleverly hi... read more »
Sunday - Coffee and Cakeweekly mommy babble and handmade goings on...NOW, It's on... Oh crikey, the panic we were in on Friday. For half a day we were convinced our purchased house completion had fallen through because after a positive and hopeful morning, we had a phone call that changed everything and left us pretty much unable to do anything but chew our hands and wait patiently for a resolution for the entire day.It was the first time in all the trouble we've had buying this house that it seemed like... read more »
It's Friday...It is on!... Our house move is underway so of course I've had to have lots of limitations this week with certain features, and this of course is one that I've had to postpone until next week too. I'll still be working over the days on my orders but I doubt my time can be stretched further than that really. I have had the chance to ready a few of the more recent things I've made and haven't shared on my blog so I thought I'd paste those into this quick post today, but I need to scramble real... read more »
Here are the photos of theCrocheted Water Bottle Bag I made on Saturday - see previous postfor more information on where to get the pattern. It's definitely smaller than it should be, so may have another go. Or, I may try to make one in a much bigger size to make it into a tote bag, as I really like the mesh detailing on the sides, and the curly tassels too! read more »
On Friday I bought a wonderful 'PDF PATTERN for Crochet Baby Diaper Cover' from Tafferty Designs on Etsy, and have just completed my own nappy cover. I used Rowan's Colourscape Chunky in 'Cherry', which is 100% lambswool, after looking around my local John Lewis yarn section and speaking with one of the assistants. The pattern did call for a cotton yarn, but I wanted to try out the pattern in a multi-coloured yarn and they only had wool so thought I'd give it a go anyway. I also bought a hank of th... read more »
Sunday - Coffee and Cakeweekly mommy babble and handmade goings on...Musing... I seem to have hat ideas coming from all angles currently. It's very exciting and motivating to always be thinking about creating things, and even better when I get a moment to execute the new ideas and expand on others! My inspiration this week has mostly been for Babamoon, and so far I have had three new hats come out of it. One I am still picking and choosing images for so I'll probably launch that one next week, but I have... read more »
