Kaleb is home from a fun sleepover night at my moms house, and Im in much better shape than I was when I dropped him off at daycare yesterday morning. Things had been a little tough lately, and Im so thankful to have had a day to focus on me and to do some mental and emotional housekeeping. As anyone whos a parent already knows, you cant be as good a parent if you yourself are falling apart!
A Rough Start to 2012

As I was sorting pictures this morning I saw these pictures taken 2 years ago during our visit to a friend's house. It is indeed a beautiful thing to reminisce happy memories. There was a celebration in their province and our friend invited us to come with her. Our friend took us around their neighborhood. She showed us the places which contribute her childhood days. After the celebration they brought us to this place. They call this waterfalls. I enjoy the moment being in a cool and relaxing place. The ... read more »

Last evening President Barack Obama delivered the third State of the Union address of his presidency. As I do every year, I watched the entire speech. Kaleb got to stay up later than usual, because I didnt want to miss any of it.
I think that its important to watch, if at all possible, any time the President addresses the nation. And I dont think that it is any less important if the speech is being delivered by a President you may not be particularly fond of. When George W. Bush was in office, I wat... read more »

Sherlock Jr./The Play Houseseen @ Landmark Loews Jersey City, Jersey City NJ1.21.12The more I see of the work of Buster Keaton, the more amazed I am. I used to only know him as one of the giants of silent screen comedy - one third of the holy trinity of Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd. Now, though, I also see him as a remarkable filmmaker who, in some respects, was ahead of his time. This past Saturday, when we got hit with snow for the first time this winter (not much), the Loews Jersey City showed a Keaton t... read more »

There is nothing like a good friend. Mom had plenty of them- whether related or not, she cared deeply about her circle of friends. She enjoyed their conversation and the time spent with them. She wrote a little about them in her memoirs:
I have had the good fortune of having a lot of good friends in my lifetime. Two very special ones has a very special place in my heart. Carol and Daisy.
Carol's friendship has no boundary she accepts me as is. Mistakes and all. Daisy and I go back a long way togeth... read more »
