Rain is Coming ...

content discovered on Tuesday, May 29, 2012

It is another beautiful day in Northern Ireland, though they say rain is on the way. I don't mind too much as I finally tried my hand at barbequing yesterday evening. All things considered it all went rather well and no disastrous side effects such as tummy upsets or the like, just a pleasant meal. It is strange that a barbeque can seem a special sort of meal, yet it uses the most basic of ingredients such as burgers and sausages Considering the initial difficulties my daughter and I had we were well pl... read more »

The West Belfast may keep hold of its devout divide, but in the present day its political murals are a picture opportunity for visitors. The [...] read more »

Down Man Terry George Hits The Heights At Oscar...

I have reason to feel uplifted I cannot say that it was a bad weekend, not for Irish Sport or the Northern Irish film industry. The Irish rugby team got a good result beating Italy 42 - 10.In my ignorance I thought it was an excellent match although I'll say serious rugby fans will be dissecting the match and discussing weaknesses or flaws on the Irish side. I just think well done - Well done great result! Terry George won (alongside his daughter Oorlagh who was co producer) an Oscar for his short fil... read more »

It's The Way I Tell 'Em

content discovered on Thursday, February 23, 2012

The world is a sadder place this morning at the news of the passing of comedian Frank Carson. Tributes poured into my local radio station from celebrities and ordinary people who all feel the loss of this extraordinarily talented man. A man who hardly took a breath between jokes - His jokes were often silly and stupid but still very very funny because as he'd quip himself "It's the way I tell 'em" He was a loveable man who audiences loved and he loved his audience, it was clear that he loved what he did... read more »
