“That tricky second album” is a quote rarely heard. But when you consider just how different Shousou Strip is from its predecessor Muzai Moratorium you could very coin such a phrase.
It begins with a bassfueledbang – literally – and an invisible orchestral flourish and it’s a start that’s hard to better. Quite how ear catching it is, is hard to explain unless you hear it. But rest assured for those new to this album that it’s a good beginning. The sound for Shouso Strip is somewhat more even, with a ... read more »
Have you ever mixed a completely random cocktail – either as an adult or a child? Did it consist of random elements of whatever you had to hand at the time, mixed to perfection by your curious hands? Japanese band Polysics describes their music as “technicolor pogo punk” and it’s hard not to picture the band pogoing around in a technicolor landscape to this completely absorbing but perfectly silly music.
With a fifteen year career behind them it’s clear that they’ve become experts at this kind of thi... read more »

There are two main reasons why Ameyoko is always packed with pedestrians: 1) it is a haven for budget shoppers and 2) it is a haven for food lovers! Finding ourselves fitting comfortably in both categories, we took the train to Ueno to witness and savour first-hand this highly-recommended s... read more »

We ordered their Wagyu beef Shabu set that comes with fried chicken, a bowl of udon, shabu soup with veges and 80 grams of wagyu beef (set for 2). Frankly speaking we are kinda disappointed with their wagyu beef as i think it is not as fresh. the color of the beef looks pale n weird.

This little place in Bangsar Village has always been our trusted go-to bakery whenever a (rather specific) craving for Japanese cheese cake hits!
The thing about Japanese cheese cake is that it is arrestingly divine and perfectly embodies all that is right in the cake world: soft and creamy, smooth and pillowy, dense yet airy... The fact that it is very light makes it a gre... read more »
As I've mentioned on my previous entry, I'll be reviewing mainly Asian brands/products for the whole month of May. For today, I will be reviewing these very affordable blushers I bought from Nichido. Read on to find out whether they're good or bad.
I've been searching for a nice peach blush when I saw these two blushers from Nichido. When the SA told me these were on sale and that they were around 70 - 80php (2$), I bought them immediately. Me thinks that this is Nichido's version of Maybelline's mousse... read more »
For the whole month of May, I decided to feature mainly Asian products / brands in my blog. To start off, I'd be featuring the goodies I bought in two Japanese stores: Daiso Clipper.
First up, the infamous Donut Bun...perfect for creating hair buns this Summer ^^ I got this from Daiso for less than a hundred (around 2$). I have the Large one but I probably should've gotten the Medium-sized bun. Oh well, I guess I just have to make it work.
Next are these jeweled hairbands...I'd pair these with my Do... read more »
