content discovered on Tuesday, April 23, 2013

How to Increase and Decrease Knitting Stitches

content discovered on Monday, January 02, 2012

Well, I've started the knitting journey - I now know how to cast-on, knit and purl to make stocking stitch, rib stitch, basket weave stitch and moss stitch. I'm enjoying learning the stitches, but the hand positioningfeels really awkward compared to crocheting, it almost feels back-to-front. I'm just wanting to learn to stitches and techniques at the moment, so I can have a go at a simple pattern. Next pattern in the book is a mobile phone case. I was looking at knitting a heart further on butI couldn... read more »

content discovered on Sunday, January 01, 2012

Happy New Year to you all!I've decided that this year I'm going to learn to knit - I've just bought this book with some vouchers I received for Christmas: Usborne's 'How to Knit', by Fiona Watt Stella Baggott. I think it's a children's book, so this should make it easy to learn, with easy-to-follow photos and diagrams. I'm also hoping that Jay or Daisy might like to learn one day, so this book should help them too. I'm also planning to write and sell my original crochet patterns on Etsy, Ravelry and... read more »

New experience #10- Learn to Knit

content discovered on Thursday, February 17, 2011

I was very excited about learning to knit! My grandmother had tried to teach me to knit many years ago. I just couldn’t master it for whatever reason. I was worried that I would not be able to learn to knit again. My knitting class included five other women. I think we were around the same age. Most of us were new to knitting. My teacher gave us a bag that included yarn, knitting needles, and a “how to” knit brochure. She began by teaching us a slip knot and a square knot. I had a little trouble right fr... read more »
