food at Chuck's Grub Growing up, I had this immense dislike on fish meat. The same dislike that I had on bitter gourd (ampalaya), okra, string beans and other vegetables of the green and leafy variety. But now as an adult, the foods that I abhor as a kid are now the foods that I can't get enough. I so much like guinisang ampalaya with fried tofu and crushed pork cracklings (chicharon), ampalaya stuffed with ground meat, string beans with vermicelli noodles (sotanghon). I even apportion myself most of th... read more »
my orders at Buffalo Wings N' Things I love spicy food and if I'm craving for one, I usually go to a Mexican restaurant (or some might call a Tex-Mex resto). A few months ago when I saw a sign at the basement level of SM Megamall that a Buffalo Wings N' Things restaurant is currently being constructed right next to SumoSam, I made a mental note to keep tabs of when the resto would open. True enough, the next time I passed by the resto is already fully operational. I went right in without missing a beat... read more »
Hawaiian shave ice Cold weather notwithstanding, I found myself craving for cold desserts these days. Most possibly brought about by a colleague of mine who seems to have a penchant for cold desserts most especially when the weather is cold and got influenced by it at some point. Though I still frequent cafes to get my usual dose of hot coffee, there were certain days wherein the pull of soothingly cold dessert is too strong to ignore. Gelatissimo chocolate truffle gelato I was with my colleagues o... read more »
Chipotle Pork Sloppy Joe It was a series of bad luck (or should I say, unfortunate events) that led me to Mexicali in SM Megamall. I was originally looking for Biksa Coffee in Marikina (they were still close at that time, I belatedly learned) and got myself lost looking for Dragon Street along Gil Fernando Avenue. I took a short respite by stopping at a convenient store beside a gas station to have a Magnum Chocolate Truffle (that ice cream bar which was targeted with so much hate and puzzlement months ... read more »
Last Sunday, we were at SM Megamall. And from there we attended the Sunday Mass at the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord located on the 5th level of Mega Atrium. When the mass was ended, we then had our dinner at KFC, one of my son’s favorite food chains. We had a little shopping for my son afterward. It was past 9 pm, stores/outlets were already closing. I knew that my husband; driver at the same time (since I don’t have my driver’s license yet hehe) will get sleepy driving us home so I offered him to have... read more »
Im a frequent mall hopper of SM Megamall over the years. In fact, it maybe the only place Ive been on almost a hundred of times lately. Its nice being there since its near and more accessible than other malls..BUT, BUT! The wifi they claim to be free is not really usable. At least, now. Before, we [...] read more »
Purple Cane Tea Restaurant. I am sure this sounded familiar to you right? Well, we were no stranger to this restaurant even before we had our first step in this restaurant. We've heard of this resto many times from colleagues and friends. It was said to served nice healthy foods. And coincidentally, one fine day when we were at MidValley, my friend suggested that we dine at Purple Cane. We agreed to it without a second thought. It was a delightful dinner although the Salad Prawn was a turn off. Herbal ... read more »
