Long live Egypt!

Discovered on Friday, February 11, 2011

I am happy that the people of Egypt finally got democracy enforced. For too long President Mubarak had autocratic rule over Egypt and the people believed in change. Change of a new era... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]] read more »

Obama Administration Corrects Clapper's Claim T...

Discovered on Friday, February 11, 2011

The Obama administration took the rare step Thursday of correcting its own intelligence chief after the official claimed Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood is "largely secular."Director of National Intelligence James Clapper discussed the Islamist group during a hearing on Capitol Hill earlier Thursday. He testified that the organization has "pursued social ends" and a "betterment of the political order," and downplayed its religious underpinnings."The term 'Muslim Brotherhood' ... is an umbrella term for a vari... read more »

Time for UCubed to stop chillin'.

Discovered on Tuesday, February 01, 2011

UCubed is an unemployment advocacy group organized under the auspices of the IAM. The organizational skills and resources Unions can offer the unemployed are (to borrow a marketing campaign) PRICELESS. I can only imagine the assistance UCubed can provide once they actually start.I apologize, the above is a cheap shot. This is not intended to be a condemnation on UCubed, merely a strongly worded critique. Simply put, the 99ers and the soon to be 99ers desperately need UCubed to reach it's potential beginn... read more »

Egypt: Obama of the Two Faces

Discovered on Sunday, January 30, 2011

As protests against the Mubarak regime in Egypt grew this week, President Obama could not have been more ambivalent during a television interview about the crisis. In remarks echoed by Secretary of State Clinton, he acknowledged the need for the Egyptian people to be able to have "greater participation" in their Government. But, while he cautioned Mubarak against some sort of Tianamen Square-style slaughter, he employed the old trick of warning the protesters against violence. Things should be resolved p... read more »

Rambling Rumblings.

Discovered on Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I missed most of the State of the Union address last night. I was meeting with a local restaurant owner, assuring him I had the requisite skills to take food from his kitchen door to a neighborhood house. I think he's going to offer me a two week tryout. When I got home I found I lacked the patience to watch a replay of the speech of the two responses.According to my Twitter stream President Obama did not mention the plight of the 99ers in the State of the Union. I was not surprised. The President has ne... read more »

Obama sigue en busca de iglesia para congregarse

Discovered on Tuesday, January 18, 2011

The True Creation Story

Discovered on Thursday, January 13, 2011

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives. Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan sm... read more »

Will No One Rid Us of These Meddlesome Messiahs?

Discovered on Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Henry Plantagenet, King of England and Normandy in the tumultuous second half of the 12th century, brooked little dissent. Imprisoning even his own sons and his wife when he suspected them of plotting against him, the only real opposition he faced came from his former friend, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Becket. He had originally appointed him as his placeman, but Becket soon proved far from compliant and Henry was infamously heard to mutter "Is there no one who will rid me of this meddlesome pri... read more »

Politics means never having to say you're sorry.

Discovered on Monday, January 10, 2011

Yesterday's postwas written to be non-partisan. I hope I succeeded. Today, not so non-partisan.Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik criticized vitriolic political rhetoricduring a press conference about the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. He in turn was criticized by Sen. Jon Kyl and vitriolic right wing bloggers for having the temerity to suggest that perhaps the tone of political conversation might have contributed to the attack. Some have even called Sheriff Dupnik's comments an attac... read more »

The Moderate Muslim Threat

Discovered on Sunday, January 09, 2011

NY mosque affair another sign moderate Muslims more dangerous than radicals.By: Shaul RosenfeldMuslims should build mosques “everywhere,” Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar declared Tuesday as he addressed the plans to build a mosque near ground zero in New York. Most of his Muslim brethren, moderates and radicals alike, likely endorsed this sentiment. After all, when one of the pillars of Islam is its very dissemination, one should not wonder that even the “moderates” view ground zero as a suitable site for ... read more »
