Apollo: 9 weeks 5 days oldKnightley: 1 year 3 months 2 weeks 3 days old My very cute and fluffy boy.So, Apollo is home and has been for the last 3 days. He is everything I could have hoped for and more. He's very enthusiastic, a quick learner and very physically agile - much moreso than Knightley at that age, which I hope bodes well for his hips. They are getting along very well although Knightley sometimes plays a little rough and I have intervene. Apollo is so small compared to him! It is hard to beli... read more »

Knightley: 1 year, 3 months, 1 week and 6 days oldApollo: 9 weeks and 2 days old Apollo on the right. This was taken yesterday after three pupshad already left to their new homes.Well, the day is just about here, that Knightley gets a new little brother. I'm very excited, despite the fact I have a triple bacterial infection, sigh! But tomorrow hubby and I drive up to Sydney to pick up our ball of fluff and sharp little puppy teeth. I could have pneumonia and I'd still be going!I'm going to give him a ... read more »

Yes, I am alive! So is Mr Knightley!

1 year 1 month oldWoah, so long since I did my last post! I am sorry my devoted (and not so devoted) readers! That will at least change when we find a new puppy. This will be my least posting month for over a year. Shocking. There are four or so reasons I have been so tardy in my postings. Firstly I continue to be pretty rocked by the whole situation of 'losing' Knightley in that way, and then losing the choice of that last litter was upsetting too! It is hard to find another litter that I am happy with. ... read more »

10 months 1 week 6 days oldToday I needed some prescriptions filled, and the shops are not at all far away and Knightley needed some public access work so off we went together. He behaved like a dream!! I can't actually believe what a good boy he was. First I went to drop my scripts off (I had like 7 to get filled, yes I take a *lot* of medication), then I had about 15 minutes to use up while we were waiting. So we went into the supermarket to do some training. He was such a good boy. I had his halter on... read more »

The leg has risen! And many decisions to make

content discovered on Thursday, June 07, 2012

10 months 1 week 3 days oldWell!!! After some twitches, and then peeing closer and closer to trees until he was almost trying to be absorbed into them... Knightley has finally lifted his leg! It was very matter of fact, no wobbling around as I have heard other dogs do on their 'first time', and he wasn't even proud of himself! Well, I'll be proud of him for him. Some people de-sex their male dogs when they first lift their leg to pee, as it usually happens somewhere between 8-12 months and shows somethin... read more »

10 months 6 days old A photo you may have already seen of Knightley peltingdownthe drain. Thewater runs nicely clear after the firstcoupleofhoursof rain(I think at first the storm water drainsneedflushing) andit'sreally great exercise as the water giveshim extraresistancewhen he's running so he tires out morequickly.Witha 10month old pup, this is a GOOD thing!!Well, after yesterdays's insanity, I badly needed a quiet day - so that's what I got. Unfortunately Knightley was completelyrecovered from his ... read more »

10 months 5 days oldWell, today was our much anticipated Kite Festival day at the Arts Centre where I work/volunteer. The weather forecast had looked pretty good, 20% chance of rain, and only in the evening. Of course they got it all wrong and we woke up to drizzle. Ugh. So much planning and effort had gone into it all but we had to move it all inside, it was a great shame.Anyway, the day was still fully on, it just wouldn't be outside much at all. I had been planning to take Knightley because it was goi... read more »

New purchases, and Knightley the professional???

content discovered on Wednesday, May 30, 2012

10 months 2 days oldSo in the last couple of days we've been buying things left right and centre! Firstly, we bought the car, which we pick up tomorrow....! (Read the last two entries to find out about our new [used] car). I'm getting over my hip injections much quicker than I expected... certainly last time I had them done it caused much more tissue trauma. I have high hopes the nerve block the doctor did will be very helpful, as it already seems to be helping. However, the question is how long is it go... read more »

10 months oldWell I usually get photos on the day of every month birthday, but today was just a bit too busy! I'll try to get some tomorrow. It seems sooo short between each month birthday, it seems only a week or at the most two since I was saying he was 9 months old. He neeeeeeearly lifted a leg when peeing against a tree today. My boy really is growing up. He also has new sleeping arrangements as of tonight. For the first couple of months of his life with us he slept closed in his crate, then after th... read more »

content discovered on Friday, May 25, 2012

9 months 3 weeks 6 days oldTonight my wonderful puppy dog opened the cupboard door like I have been training him to! He just suddenly did it.... backed up the whole way with his cute blue shower scrub in his mouth until it tensioned and opened up the cupboard door. I forgot about clicking and kind of screamed 'yes!!' lol.... almost frightened him a bit I think. But then I stuffed a whole bunch of treats into his mouth, what us clicker trainers call a jackpot. The dog gets it when they get something espec... read more »
