Last week, I got news that Pat had a Bell's Palsy stroke, a stroke that affects one side of the face. It resolves shortly after but it is brought on by stress. Being on Death Row definitely qualifies for stress. Seeing people die that you encounter on day to day basis...I don't know how to deal with that sort of psychological trauma. The mental breakdown and understanding that one day, that is supposed to be you...how do you cope with that?Everything is now into a different perspective. I have depended o... read more »

The last time I mentioned Hannibal, I said it was one of my most anticipated shows to watch every week. In the same breath, I invoked Scandal, The Good Wife, and the new summer series on ABC, Black Box, which inherited Scandal’s timeslot behind Grey’s Anatomy.
Four weeks later, I have a lot to say…
Black Box follows Kelly Reilly as Catherine Black, “The Marco Polo of the Brain,” who hides her bi-polar disorder from her colleagues in order to maintain credibility. The only person in her corner is her ... read more »

Last time I talked about Crisis, I pleaded for more of the scene-stealing Gillian Anderson.
My pleas were not heeded.
The last episode that aired, “Homecoming,” didn’t feature her at all, though she was mentioned. The next episode, she’ll play a pivotal part. But even before that, she’d appear in two or three, not-that-long scenes an episode. That’s just unacceptable.
And at this point, I’m like “Use her or lose her,” because unlik... read more »
http://www.pnj.com/article/20140412/NEWS11/304120015/Gonzalez-death-sentence-upheld-in-Billings-murdersAs expected, the Florida Supreme Court upheld Patrick's conviction for the Billings Murders. The articles claim, "In upholding the conviction, the state Supreme Court found that the convictions were supported by competent, substantial evidence, according to the State Attorney’s Office." That is a purely laughable statement. In the public records, in plain English, the state acted against judicial canons ... read more »
Gillian Anderson is the best performer on television.
There, I said it.
(The second best would be Bellamy Young on Scandal—very different women)
And though Andersoncurrently stars (or guest stars) on three series this year, I don’t feel like I’m seeing more of her than I did in, say, 2011.
The RTÉ One drama The Fall, where she stars as cold, calculating, and seductive Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, only airs for five weeks of the year and won’t be starting until the fall.
That wasn’t a... read more »
It's not uncommon for me to watch a show through its first season and then drop it in its second. Beauty and the Beast is an example.
But the reason behind my dropping The Americans is different than the usual decline-in-quality issues. The show hasn’t changed, but every week, I grow closer and closer to realizing I never enjoyed watching it in the first place.
As a fan of Damages, I’m willing to watch every new FX drama, in the hopes they’ll rekindle that ever-elusive flame.
When T... read more »
Sundays are the new promise land for the Big Four, where they schedule both their new, promising series, and the old, but steady syndication.
I already analyzed the 10:00 hour, where Crisis faced off against Revenge and The Mentalist.
For the 9:00 hour, supernatural powerhouse Resurrection on ABC, battles new J.J. Abrams-produced science fiction series, Believe, on NBC, and the critical darling The Good Wife on CBS.
First up is…
If ever there was an underrated show, it’d be Believe. Unlike J.J. ... read more »
