Reusable 'Paper' Towels I was so excited to make these. I have seen them on ETSY a couple times and, oh swoon...I finally got my serger in good working order. (You know, the blade sharpened, the tensions set, the oil changed {it's an oil bath model}, and the whole thing just generally checked and lubed.) So now that it's back I have been fired up to start making stuff and this was the first thing I got a chance to do! I made these the super easy way, with plain old serged edges but if you don't have one... read more »

Have you looked at something and thought that you'd really like it and then find something else that you'd really like yet they are similar? I know, this isn't quite making sense yet but hopefully it will soon. After my recent dinner party, I took a good look at my napkin rings. As nice as they were, they seemed a bit small for my new napkins. Notice in the top picture the napkin seems a bit crowded in the ring. The second (bottom) picture looks a little better. More like a bow-tie. Rebekah from Twinkle... read more »

So today was a lazy Monday. Well, I had errands but my day wasnt so packed with stuff. Anywho, I decided that a trip to my local Joanns was in order. I needed some material for a tote bag that I wanted to make. (Oh and while there, I found some patterns that was on [...] read more »
A Pillowcase and an Idea I found this pillowcase at the thrift store the other day and really just fell in love with it. I don't know why, it was calling me I think. And for .55 cents, who argues when it is calling you? Anyway, I bought it knowing I could do something fab with it when I got home. After I was home however I couldn't decide what to do with it. First I thought, maybe a dress for the girls, but no, then the design would be backwards. Then I thought I could cut it down and make something, ... read more »
Our breakfast nook off the kitchen has a glass top round table. We love the table because visually it doesn't take up any space and the view out the window is actually what we see.Our dilemma lies in the fact that we have rectangular placemats that are perfect for any other table but don't actually look right on the round table. We have searched in the kitchen, household, and department stores in our area and believe it or not, have not been able to find any placemats that would fit a round table. Our sea... read more »
DIY Reusable Fabric Snack Bags So, yesterday the kids had some friends over for a play date and their mother and I also got to have a craft date. You can not believe how excited I was to have a friend to craft with! She had purchased some reusable snack bags with a nice liner but we decided that just a plain cotton one would work just as well if you are not going to put anything liquid or juicy in there, right? So, here is what we did... take a scrap of fabric and cut it down to about 7 1/2 in x ... read more »
