Y TE PERDONA... read more »
Soledad Marquesa and her hubby lay splayed out on their water-bed. The end of Dharma and Greg blared on the boob tube. She passes Doyle the rest of a squat doobie. Today had been somewhat productive. Doyle and his Shriner pals spent most of the afternoon installing a new bird bath. Soledad ordered miniature [...] read more »
I dreamt about him again last night. Something about him is beautifully haunting. I dreamt about the way he got little beads of sweat on his forehead as he rode his bike by , and the way his brown hair curls at the top of his forehead creating a simple little cowlick, and the way his breath made little clouds in the morning air that floated up into the dark morning sky. I haven’t even met him. I don’t even know his name. But I do, in my dreams. As I stood up the room became more crisp and clear to me, li... read more »
Not been the smoothest of weeks, for all sorts of reasons. But, I've finally found the 'voice' for the NaNoWriMo novel, after a number of false starts. It means some modification, but will result in a better book, so worth the effort. I've done the first 3 chapters so far and I'm finally feeling pleased with the results. No short stories this week. But I've completed a new blog post and continued with the debate on ethics and morals, as shown a couple of posts below this one. Why not get involved? I'm work... read more »

In the early hours she thrashed about in her sleep, awoke in a sweat and had swept the bedclothes of her body in a dramatic fashion. They still lay in an unloved heap at the foot of her bed. She had long since left her home chewing on a piece of toast and acting on an instinctive urge, an impulse. Any of Carols friends or colleagues would have been shocked to hear that she acted so impulsively, she was not known for idiocy. The opposite could be said about her in fact. If any of them were asked to descr... read more »
Another busy, if interrupted, week.I had begun the read aloud edit session of the NaNoWriMo novel (provisionally titled An Avenger Unseen) and got as far as chapter 15 before I realised it needed some major surgery. I'm writing this as a comedy thriller, with the emphasis on the comedy. But I realised I'd gone too deeply into the thriller aspect, and my male protagonist had adapted a tone unsuitable to his narrative. So, I went back to the beginning and I've so far re-written the first 5 chapters.I've wr... read more »
Image via Wikipedia Much has been written aboutentering writing competitions, so I've decided to add to the topic only with alist of reasons why it might be a good idea for you. There's no priority in thelist, for me; the headings are simply as they occurred when I sat down to dothis piece. But, for you, there almost certainly will be reasons that are moreimportant than others. Have a read and see what you think. 1.Kudos:Some contests are so well-respected by readers and the industry that becoming apr... read more »
De... read more »
