Last year I was going to try and make one Christmas card a week. Well, I fell short of that but decided I would try and make the same commitment this year. So here goes my first card for this year. The background Poinsetta paper is from My Mind's Eye. The big red bow is from a box of candy that my husband and I got from a friend last Christmas. I thought it was so pretty I couldn't throw it away so I recycled it on a card!!! The sentiment is from SU Christmas Cardinal with nestabilities. The punch art po... read more »
Fanciful Flourish is my favorite die that I have purchase in the past 5 or 6 months. I use it a lot and just love it! I saw this card from saintsrule and had to try it. I changed the colors of the flowers but essentially it is the same. To get the frame, I used 5x5 white cardstock with Martha Stewart trellis corner and border punches. The flowers are from Joann's and nestabilities for the sentiment. The sentiment stamp is from SU Whimsical Words. It is hard to see but I did score for the background of th... read more »
I just read that this Sizzix daisy die is retiring from Stampin up. I love this die so I thought I would use it for my Mother's day card. It makes a lovely gerber daisy. You can't see it very well but I used pearls for the inside of the daisy and 3 small ones on the lavendar ribbon to the right. Martha Stewart border punch to make the strip and nestabilities for the sentiment. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers!!! read more »
I made this baby card quite a while ago and I thought it would be appropriate for a little baby boy. My mom needed a card for Polly's little guy, Wilson. My sister, Adrianne's best friend Polly just had her first baby. She named her baby boy, Wilson. Adrianne was telling me that it is a family name and Polly always said if she had a boy, Wilson would be the name. This punch art card is from Stampin up punches. The small oval punch is used for the legs and head and also the ears, but cut in half. The body ... read more »
Funky fold designToday is my husband, Mark's birthday! I wanted to use my cupcake punch since I don't feel I have used it much. It is a simple card using the funky fold design. I did emboss the icing on the cupcake with a cuttlebug folder and also embossed the sentiment Happy Birthday to you! I thought it would stand out more. It is hard to see but it has a shine to it. I found the sentiment for the inside on line which brought it altogether. Inside sentiment Mark and Eric enjoying a ride in a fast... read more »
Last week was my twin sisters birthday, Chris and Connie so I had to get busy with not 1 card but 2! I was tempted to do the same card but then they got thatmost of their lives so I did two different ones. Plus their birthdays are in December which I am sure Mom and Dad did their best with birthday gifts but somehow people who have birthdays in December must feel like they got short-changed just because Christmas is not that far away. But I never heard either of them complain. This card is for Chris. I us... read more »

This is my first attempt at the cake slice box. I can see that I need to cover up the yellow a little better on the corners but I had fun decorating it. I found the template on the internet for this cake slice box favor. The trim on the side is SU border punch and the leaves on the top are from Cheery Lynn designs. Check out the picture below - I like having the leaves go over the side. The flower is from SU build a blossom punch. The petals are embossed with SU EF. Just a little amber-colored crystal fo... read more »
Congratulations to Jill and Rob! My niece and her husband are expecting a "little one" April 1st, 2012! I have wanted to make this card for almost a month since they told us but just now have gotten around to do it. I remembered seeing this punch art pregnant lady on SC a while ago and thought this would be great card to congratulate them. Check out Ellen Kemper's blog for a list of all the punches she used. The only change I did was that I had a hand punch. It was fun putting her together! Thanks Ellen!... read more »
When I saw some of the quilted cards on SC, especially this card I wanted to make one too but use it as a background. The squares on the "quilt" are 1 inch squares. I have made one with the 1 3/8" punch which I may show you at a later date but I think the 1 inch is better because you have more squares. Basically, you just put the 1 inch squares on a cardstock and then cut out with your top note die. I just added the owl punch bat, which is so adorable, and the sentiment with some ribbon. I have made quit... read more »
