Ante los problemas económicos de la Warner, Guillermo del Toro ha abandonado la producción del Hobbit tras dos años trabajando en todos los temas relacionados a esta tan esperada película(s). Es lamentable, puesto que después de (y con su asesoría) Jackson, eran sus capaces manos las más apropiadas para manejar el material.
