Kirby has dabbled in rally and agility with pretty good results. He's very smart and picks up quickly. He enjoys agility which he can do pretty fast but he's not fast enough to seriously compete. Swimming is where he excells. He absolutely loves the water, spending every second he can in the water. He swims, jumps, and dives with full abandonment. We are so excited because today is the 2nd Annual Dog Paddle event sponsored by the Oktibbeha County Humane Society. Kirby loves to swim at the lake every chance he gets but this is the one and only time he gets to swim in a real pool with other dogs. He had a blast last year and even won the Best Doggie Paddle Award - probably because he literally spent the entire time jumping into the pool and swimming! We became big fans of EzyDog when we started using their chest plate harness and Sparky leash which you can read about here. This duo changed everything when it came to walking Kirby and is the only ones we use. I am still amazed at the difference! Now we are not only big fans, we absolutely heart Ezydog! We made our first trip of the summer to White Lake in Eupora, Mississippi. It's about 40 minutes from our house but worth the trip since they allow dogs to swim in the lake. We usually pack some food and drinks along with the usual beach paraphernalia to spend the day. Kirby loves, loves, loves the water so we have a lot of fun with him.
