After a lovely CrossFit workout, it was time to refuel quick to conquer the long run of the week with Sarah. So a Peppermint Stick Luna bar it was! Our goal was to run 8 miles.... well 9 miles later we were done!!! Mind you in that picture the 6:29 was an all out sprint right at the end (there is NO way I could actually run at that pace. I went home and whipped up some eggs, spinach, tempeh, and leftover lentils with some pita. It was then time for the farmers Market. I love going to the farmer... read more »

Summertime Delight

content discovered on Saturday, July 14, 2012

When you hold a slice of watermelon in your hand, you’re holding a piece of summer. Watermelon relates with summer, like snow relates with winter. You gotta have it. There’s watermelon eating contests, where I’m still trying to figure out what they do with the seeds. One of these days, I will be walking around the county fair, and I’ll see a kid who has just competed in such a contest. When I see him, I plan to ask him after he is done spitting out the seeds like a machine gun.A lot of people don’t reali... read more »

The New Cookie On The Block

content discovered on Monday, June 25, 2012

This is probably about the most unusual cookie recipe I have ever conjured up in my laboratory (My Kitchen). In addition, the cookies are quite striking, even though they do not have much of a "natural look". I was thinking that they would come out more pinkish than orange, but I did learn that trying to color a batter that already has a color is futile. Next time around, I will not be bothering with the food coloring as suggested in this recipe. The cookies will be a paler orange color, but never the pi... read more »

Aries: Time to quit your job. WHAT? but WHY? you ask. Well for starters, aint nobody gets respect from working at a canned beans factory. Now put that bean scoop down and get out there! I was listening to the FM 92.3 while driving. Chunky asked about the news that the US gov is considering to implant human barcodes into new babies body! Not to mention if this is a good or bad idea, if the doctors accidentally put the cows' bar-code numbers into the babies' body...and your babies are technically baby cows! Are you ready for this? The Rant Of Summer

content discovered on Thursday, August 04, 2011

Yes, for years the breeders have been making sweet corn more and more sugary, but i never thought it was necessary in the first place. i loved sweet corn since i was a child, and while i do like the "new" varieties a LITTLE better, they are almost too sweet at times. So, breeder guys, it's OK to stop now! What i really want is a sweet corn plant that bears multiple ears! i know corn plants are extremely heavy feeders and that one huge stalk is there only to produce that one lonesome ear of corn (someti... read more »
