Although Amsterdam is undoubtedly the city of Heineken (have you SEEN the lines to get into the company's museum?) and other beers of the lowlands, there comes a day in everyone's life when a glass of wine in the warm sunshine is necessary. And as the sunlight gets ever hotter, and Amsterdam streets even busier (oh yes, they get EVEN busier than they are now) a table on the patio of a wine-bar just... read more »

Wine pairings, a work in progress. What...no yarn? One of the cool Christmas gifts we got from our Darling Daughter was a box of wine pairings for each of us. My box was all Pinot Noir while hubby's wine tasting pairings were mixed reds. You get 6 cute little bottles like this in each box. We've been selecting one from each box that by description seems to go with what we're having for read more »
Hello my friends! Sorry I haven't posted in a week. I feel like I have to say this more often than not. It's a goal of mine to be better, but lately it's just been so hard because I've been so busy. Last week I was in Houston for work and attending a friends baby shower. I'll post on that later. And I know I usually do Workout Wednesdays, but once again I'm going to veer off from the routine and share with you more from our trip to Sonoma and Napa counties. Today you will get to see some of the pics I ... read more »
Wine Enthusiast magazine has named the southern Italian region of Puglia as one of the 10 best wine destinations of 2013. It was the only place in Italy to make this years list. I hope you enjoyed the first part of my day in Sonoma. So let me finish off the day with what we did next. Today I'm focusing on some delicious food...I know your mouth will be watering after seeing how delicious it looks ;)After wine tastings at BR Cohn and Ledson, we headed into downtown Sonoma for a bite to eat. We hadn't had lunch yet and it was about 4 in the afternoon, so where did we stop? Why, the popular The Girl and The Fig restaurant. I have really become a lover of French food (not all, but I... read more »
I'm Back!!! Hi friends, it's been a month since I've posted...I know what have I been doing?! Well, I was on vacation for pretty much the entire month of December and into the New Year. I got back last week, and I just couldn't get myself back into the blogging mood (for my personal blog that is). I'm still trying to get my house into order, since being back from vacation, and back to a routine. But it's not looking like I'll be getting back into my normal routine just yet, since I'll be in Texas this we... read more »
WHERE AM I? It's so quiet. I haven't heard THAT WORD which sends chills up my spine for hours now.YOU know the word. "MAAA-AAMMM?" THIS song is followed by either a "can you do this for me" or "can you get this for me" or "he did THIS to me" or "she wont give me" or "he took from me" or some form of SOMETHING that will need my supposed immediate attention.Well, none of that today. I'm actually HOME ALONE. And everyone islegitimately accounted for- GONE. Somewhere else. No kids locked in the closet or ban... read more »
