When the Lions and Dragon Kicked My Blues Away

content discovered on Saturday, February 09, 2013

Today is the eve of the Chinese New Year and I would normally say, "Kung hei fat choi" to my cat and to myself. Today is no exception. Having been feeling overwhelmed the day before, everybody's normal cycle of blues came to pay me a visit. Since today is one of my favorite days of the year, I went off looking for lions and a dragon. They will surely kick my blues away! It is my yearly ritual to watch the lion and dragon dance in the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on the eve of Chines... read more »

First Time Frying A Vege-Egg with HappyCall

content discovered on Thursday, February 07, 2013

Kitkit had been asking to try out HappyCall, ever since my 2nd BIL and SIL bought a set of HappyCall products for us as a housewarming gift. His wait was finally over today. Though the way my 9 year old poured the beaten vege-egg and held the spatula looks awkward to me, I am still [...] read more »

From Cool to Warm Weather

content discovered on Tuesday, February 05, 2013

No more cool weather in Manila, Philippines. Yes, it seems our summertime will come early this year 2013. As oppose to the previous prediction of our weathermen, we are to enjoy cooler temperature until March, it is getting warmer now especially at noontime. At least it is still cooler at night in my place. I hope no intense heat come summer time. This could result to plenty of rainfall during rainy months and possibly result to flooding. I guess I am getting paranoid a bit. I had not been affected b... read more »

Celebrating the Chinese New Year in Rome

content discovered on Thursday, January 31, 2013

The year 2013 marks the 15th anniversary since the city of Rome was twinned with the city of Beijing. I have to say, the twinning of many if not most global cities almost always completely confuses me for instance, what is the logic between the pairing of Santiago, Chile with Paris France, and Vienna, [...] read more »

Four Weeks in: How Are You Doing?

content discovered on Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Been a funny week for me. As many regulars will know, I’ve suffered from ME/CFS for around 10 years. It’s a weird condition, coming and going, fooling you into believing you’ve recovered when things are going fine for a while, and then returning to bite you on the bum when the stress increases. That happened this week and I had to take the last day of my day job, Friday, off. It drains my batteries and makes everything much harder to do. It also means I have to take more frequent and longer rests in orde... read more »

Tiny Bubbles

content discovered on Sunday, January 20, 2013

I'm a little behind making New Year Cards but this one with the owl punch from Stampin Up is adorable! The tiny bubbles are little pearls in the sizzix champagne glass. Look a little closer, they are hard to see. The card by Stamp with Sandy was my inspiration--very cute! I used a lot of bling for this card crystals, pearls and glitter paper for the background. Great way to start the New Year! The last of the Christmas cards I made for 2012 are the elves shoes from Sizzix Stampin up Top Note die. I thin... read more »
