Little Jade joined the Ultimate Summer Camp in SM this May.  I thought it would be a perfect venue for her to get used to being with other children so she wont have a hard time adjusting when she goes to school this June.  The summer camp started last week and weve had loads of fun with the [...] read more »

Neglect of self is unbecoming in its blatant ab...

Discovered on Friday, May 04, 2012 in hope, life issues, healthy living, balance

When we allow the world to pass us by at a record clip, our lives lose color and flavor. Clarity does not come from the absence of color, but more from an abundance of varied shades. The nuances allow us to rise and dip...flowing into a rhythm with context. In opposition, Colorless is a world that loses shape and contour from a life of busy. Whether the lipstick index holds validity in today's economy or not... sometimes the gift of color brought to you in a small package is all it takes to boost your s... read more »

Photo Fun #43 Winner

It looks as though this time around I picked a difficult object for Friday Photo Fun, since no one got it until yesterday afternoon.Erik, of American in Spain, finally guessed that it was a madroño fruit. In English, the plant this fruit grows on is called a strawberry tree, although the fruits are not strawberries, and while they are edible, they are nowhere near as nice as real strawberries. The bush itself isn't all that special, but when it's full of red berries, it is pretty spectacular. This is ... read more »

Gray and Tweed Feather and Fan

Discovered on Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Not much of a work in progress, I grant you....but a start. Actually there's more on the needles then it appears since it's all curling up. I may need to purchase a longer needle. Think this is a 34? Oophs, just looked it says it's a 40, but I don't think it measured that when I was checking it the other day. Expected things not to be so gathered on the needles. It's a ChiaoGoo lace needle read more »

Strawberry Lemon Buttermilk Muffins

Discovered on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in baked good, breakfast

I went to the store last week intending to get a quart of buttermilk. On a side note, I should point out that when I say “I’m going to the store,” it means I am going to our usual grocery store. No other place is referred to as “the store.” Any other grocery store is called by its proper name. It took awhile for Seth to catch on to this, but now I think he gets it. According to him, any store can be called, “the store,” but that’s just ridiculous, right? Back to the buttermilk. They only had half gallons... read more »
